Long Vacation

Hayama Minami (played by Tomoko Yamaguchi) frantically runs, in full wedding garb, to the apartment of Sena Hidetoshi (played by Takuya Kimura). It turns out Sena’s apartment-mate, Asakura, had jilted Minami at the altar, leaving her distraught and penniless, with nowhere to go. And so begins the romance between Sena and Minami. Over the course of the dorama, we see a picture of recession-period Japan, characterized by frequent struggles and sometimes even depression in young people trying to make a living and find happiness.
